TGIF

Finally, the two weeks from hell have come to an end. I've written all the necessary letters of rec., departmental and programatic reports; I've finished the various manuscript reviews; I've attended many of the job candidate's talks; I've been to all the meetings; and I've graded all the papers; and I've finished my annual evaluation.

In the midst of all the chaos, my oldest sister had an emergency surgery for a reputured appendix, my middle sister and I both had birthdays, and my kitchen averted an electrical disaster. What is it they say about when it rains? Yep, it pours.

To top things off, I allowed myself to be sucked into the black hole of all work and no stretching or exercise, so yesterday my neck and back locked up. I have on-going neck and back problems--a couple desicated discs here and there and some bulging discs to make things more interesting--so I know I have to stretch and do yoga and limit my time at the computer, but I had so damn much to do I forgot to take care of myself. My bad, and now I'm paying for it.

No more blogging or computer games tonight. Until tomorrow, adieu.

Sounds like you've had a gruesome few weeks. Glad to hear that they're over. Happy birthday, BTW.

Thanks Rosa! But, there's good news: my sister is home from the hospital and doing well, and the pile on my desk of things to do seems managable for the moment.

I'm certain we all have times when there's more to do than hours in the day, but I'm glad the flood is over for now.
